Jesus; The Resurrection and The Life

In the book of John chapter 9; Jesus and His disciples came across a man who is described as having been born without eyes. This situation generated a debate amongst the disciples, I can imagine they must have been asking each other; “how come this guy was born without eyes? Surely God is not wicked; hence someone must have sinned for this man to be born without eyes, to be born incomplete”. However, when they finally mustered some courage to ask the master, His answer must have been a big surprise to them all, He told them no one sinned, but the man was blind as part of God’s master plan.

John 9:1-3 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. Jesus was making it known to the disciples here that God has a plan, and can do anything. There is nothing too difficult for Him, and to prove this, the man that was born blind was preserved unto the day when Jesus gave Him sight and the bible said the man became an evangelist immediately. He became a living proof of the power and glory of God.

What has the enemy been telling you about your situation, that you sinned? That you are not a good Christian? That you can never recover? That you are a failure? God used the situation of the man who was born blind to prove to the world that He can do and undo, and that He can reverse what seems irreversible? Therefore, I have news for you, that during this season of Easter – the period of resurrection that the Lord of the resurrection will turn your situation around. He will restore what you have lost.

It is possible for one to think a situation is so bad, that it cannot be rectified. Maybe you think you career is dead, maybe your hopes and dreams and visions are dead, and have been dead for a long time. Maybe even your body is dead, maybe you have been waiting for a baby for so long, and you have now given up. Your situation may be different, you may have been looking for a husband and wife for so long, you are now beginning to console yourself that Paul said it’s better to be single anyway. I have come to announce to you today, that the resurrection and the life is ready to raise to life what seem to have been dead.

You may be completely discouraged, because you think time has passed. But God do not work with human time, He works in “due time” or in the “fullness of time”. A good example is found in the book of John Chapter 11, when Jesus was told that Lazarus, someone who He knew personally was sick. Jesus did not work with the human expectation, but He connected to God’s plan for that life and waited a bit more. John 11:3-6 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

It seemed not to make sense when someone who you knew and loved is dying, and you can do something about it, but you decided to wait a bit more. It was because He had a better plan. Jesus used the death of Lazarus to prove to the world that He was the resurrection and the life and there was nothing too difficult for God to do. He raised Lazarus after he had been dead for four days, undeniably and effectively dead. Therefore, what is that thing in your life that seems God had not intervened in, do not take that as a hint that God has rejected you, He loves Lazarus just as much, but He waited for the right time. In your situation as well, He is only waiting for the right time, and every Lazarus in your life will return to life in Jesus name.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
